Students solve puzzles to discover names of cities in Colorado. Example Above: This picture of a rose with an arrow pointing to a thorn, plus a 2000 pound weight would be the city of Thornton. Once students figure out the city name, they can do activities which will strengthen their map skills such as locating the city on a map, estimating the distance to other cities, finding out the population of that city, etc. This activity lets students learn about their state in a fun and unique way.
