About the Authors
Caryl Humphries
Caryl Humphries taught elementary school for 17 years, most of which were spent teaching fourth grade at Eagle Elementary in Eagle, Idaho.
She holds a master’s degree in reading education from Boise State University. For thirteen years she coordinated the fourth grade Rendezvous held each year in the West Ada School District.
In 1998, Caryl resigned from teaching to spend more time with her family and to dedicate more time to writing.
She lives in Boise with her husband Ed. She and her mother, Dorothy Dutton, started this business in 1992.
Dorothy Dutton
Dr. Dorothy Dutton was an educational consultant and reading specialist.
She held a master’s degree in elementary education from Western State College in Gunnison, Colorado and a doctorate of reading from the University of Northern Colorado.
Dorothy had a total of thirty-three years of teaching experience. She taught every level from kindergarten through college.
She was district curriculum director in the Gunnison School District for three years. When she retired from teaching, she moved to Idaho from Colorado to be near her daughter and family. She had four children, seven grandchildren and seven great grand babies. Dorothy passed away on September 25, 2021. She will always be remembered as a wonderful mom, teacher and friend.
